Ayurveda defines the very purpose of medical practice in the classical dictum: “स्वस्थस्यस्वास्थ्यरक्षणं, आतुरस्यविकारप्रशमनंच” (Swasthasya swasthya rakshanam, aaturasya vikara prashamanam cha), that is, the preservation of the health of the healthy and the alleviation of disease in the ailing. Clinical experience therefore becomes one of the most valuable assets in medical practice, as each patient encountered, each condition treated, and each therapeutic outcome deepens the physician’s understanding of Ayurvedic principles when applied in real-world settings.Over the past 33 years of clinical service, I have had the opportunity to treat patients across a wide spectrum of disease conditions and to apply the fundamental principles of Ayurveda in day-to-day clinical practice. This compilation includes selected cases that were managed under my care during these years of clinical practice.I have been encouraging my students to actively participate in clinical learning. Patients under my care were assigned to interns for follow-up, and they were encouraged to study the cases in detail and present them in the form of PowerPoint presentations. The primary intention behind this initiative was to build confidence and clinical competence among BAMS graduates, helping them develop a deeper understanding of case analysis and management based on Ayurvedic principles.Throughout my professional journey, my clinical approach has remained firmly rooted in the teachings of the classical Ayurvedic texts, emphasizing the importance of applying traditional knowledge in contemporary clinical practice. Over time, efforts were made to collect the presentations prepared by the interns. Although only a portion of the cases could be retrieved, these records still represent valuable clinical experiences. This monograph is therefore a compilation of selected clinical case records based on the available documentation. The aim of publishing these experiences is to share practical insights into Ayurvedic diagnosis and management, which may be beneficial for students, young practitioners, and clinicians. It is hoped that this work will encourage systematic case documentation and inspire future generations of Ayurveda professionals to integrate classical knowledge with clinical practice. Read more
